Catherine the Great is a historical figure I have read about for many years.
My bookshelves are filled with various versions of her life story.
Now I have a gorgeous brooch featuring her profile.
Quite a few years ago I was able to get my hands on three of these military buttons which feature her image. I've been waiting for the knowledge and inspiration to use them in a statement necklace.
I have had to collect brooches for a few years to make this piece possible.
Having just moved to Port Hope I am so lucky to have Antiques on Queen as my local shop. I found two red brooches last month and finally had enough to complete my design.
